Vision Boards, Affirmations and Meditation - They're All Just Manifestation Tools

Whether you use these tools, other tools or no tools at all, the secret is to really believe in an abundant universe and to be open to receiving abundance at all times.

March 8, 2010 - PRLog -- As the title of this article suggests, I want to discuss the subject of manifestation tools. There are many of these, but affirmations, meditation and vision boards are among the most popular and effective. I'll briefly describe each of these and their purpose, but then I want to discuss the role -and possible limits- of such tools in general.

Meditation is a very useful technique to relax the mind and body and to create a state of what is sometimes called neutrality. That is, when in meditation, you are not investing or giving much energy to any particular thought or emotion. This is useful in an indirect but very important way to the manifestation process, in that being overly attached to an outcome can block this process. Meditation is a powerful way to relax and allow things to unfold at their own pace.

Affirmations are a more active manifestation tool. They involve focusing on a specific goal or desire and repeating it, either out loud or on paper (or on a computer screen). It's best to use all of these methods of affirmation -spoken and written. This imprints your desire on all parts of your mind, including the unconscious. When you affirm, don't worry if you don't believe with complete certainty in what you are saying. The point is to change your beliefs in the desired direction; you don't have to be perfect.

Vision boards are like a visual form of affirmation. They are pictures, which can be taken from anywhere -magazines, newspapers or created by you- that represent your desires. They can be related to a specific desire, such as a picture of a home that resembles one you'd like to own. Or they can be more symbolic; for example, the picture of a lion might represent strength to you. Vision boards are very good accompaniments to affirmations. Between the two, you are using both sides of your brain -the more verbal left side and the more visual right side.

The reason I say that all of the above are "only" manifestation tools is that none of these methods, as great as they are, are really essential to get want you want. The universe operates according to its own laws, such as the Law of Attraction. There is no demand that you use this or that technique or magic word. The important thing is to be in a receptive state of mind. If these -or any other- techniques can help you do this, then by all means use them. Yet keep in mind that the *real* goal is not to simply go through the motions of doing a method, but to feel that you are in a completely receptive state.

Techniques can be powerful tools in your quest to master the Law of Attraction, but they are tools and not the goal itself. Earlier I referred to the possible limits of using these techniques. They can only limit you if you think that all you have to do is repeat a process over and over -as you might do a boring job every day, without really thinking about it while your mind is elsewhere. This won't do you any harm, but it won't speed up the manifestation process either. Whether you use these tools, other tools or no tools at all, the secret is to really believe in an abundant universe and to be open to receiving abundance at all times.
