PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 08, 2010 -
Who:   Culinary masters battle each other and the clock to prepare astounding culinary masterpieces in the famous Challenge to the Chefs.

What:   Challenge to the Chefs presented by Bombay Sapphire is one of the many exciting aspects of the Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s Great Arizona Picnic. The competitive event pits four chefs against each other in a culinary showdown. The timed race challenges chefs to utilize the contents of a mystery basket to please the judges’ palates.  Each chef will have to prepare an appetizer and an entrée in the allotted time using identical professional cook tops provided by Westar Kitchen and Bath while using the same mix of surprise ingredients as their opponents. Mixologists will compete alongside the chefs using Bombay Sapphire Gin to create new and innovative drinks as a part of the challenge. Ingredients for Challenge to the Chefs are provided by Sprouts, a wholesale distributor servicing the Valleys’ fine restaurants and resorts since 1949.  Also the chefs will utilize fresh ingredients from the Scottsdale League for the Arts “Giving Garden”, an organic garden planted in October that was maintained by Singh Farms.
