Yancey Book Fair which will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 12:00 noon to 3:00 P.M. at the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge, 24 Washington Street in Dorchester.Hot Stepz will utilize its online marketing sites, including extensive presence on Facebook,Myspace,Ning and the very opula Hot Stepz website to bring attention to this growing program that promotes reading skills among the children of Boston.
The Yancey Book Fair has been nourishing minds of Boston children for over two decades. Our theme this year, “Be Inspired…READ,”
Literacy is the key to success. Encouraging children to read bolsters vocabulary, academic achievement, and future exposure to career opportunities.
While I fought for ten years to build a new library in Mattapan, the Yancey Book Fair, which provides free books, has been enabling Boston children to build libraries in their own homes.
The Yancey Book Fair needs your support to continue its mission of cultivating literacy in the City of Boston . All checks should be made payable to The Yancey Book Fair and mailed to: P.O. Box 961902 , Boston , Massach us etts , 02196 .
The Yancey Book Fair Coordinator, Lynette Frazier, may be contacted at 617 635-3131. We look forward to your genero us donation, either books or monetary.
Sincerely,
Charles C. Yancey
