ENENSYS Technologies keeps on innovating in digital terrestrial television and investing on the new DVB-T2 technology to provide the most cutting-edge broadcast solution of the market. Throughout its DVB-T2 Gateway and the multiple PLP properties, ENENSYS allows broadcast operators to offer a wide range of business models combining HD and SD services, video and radio, fixed and Mobile services
The second generation terrestrial network, DVB-T2, includes the state-of-the art technology to efficiently use as much as possible the terrestrial spectrum while relying on the better algorithm. The Physical Layer Pipes concept defined within the DVB-T2 standard enables services-specific robustness. Operators can transmit at the same time HD services with high robustness and SD services with lowest robustness. A single multiplex can also address fixed TV antenna, mobile devices, radio receivers, ...
The ENENSYS' DVB-T2 Gateway features the DVB-T2 encapsulation of MPEG-2 Transport Stream into baseband frames, inserts synchronization information for SFN/MISO broadcasting, control in-band DVB-T2 modulators using the T2-MI protocol communication, and generates T2-MI packets over ASI and IP. The new NN6-T2 Gateway version accepts incoming MPEG-2 Transport Stream over IP and handles the delivery of multimedia services over multiple PLP.
Laurent ROUL, head-end product manager at ENENSYS, said: “We are very proud to leverage our DVB-T2 solution to support the multiple PLP transmission. The NN6-T2 Gateway is the core component of the DVB-T2 infrastructure for SFN/MISO broadcasting and now for the delivery of services over multiple PLP. It provides the tools to enable Operators to efficiently use their available spectrum and to offer a great deal of services within one multiplex. Throughout this technology, they can combine various kind of audiovisual services and monetized them according to the associated robustness.”
The NN6-T2 Gateway multiple PLP featuring completes the ENENSYS set of DVB-T2 bundles. Five end-to-end DVB-T2 bundles have been defined to allows operators and labs to discover the new DVB-T2 concepts, to start SFN/MISO experimentation or to launch an advanced DVB-T2 trial. A dedicated bundle enables multiple PLP broadcasting with the NN6-T2 Gateway, the ENENSYS' DVB-T2 modulator, and the DiviDual T2-MI monitoring and analyzing the different PLP.
