In honor of National Women’s History Month, the popular online gallery, overstockArt.com, is hosting the “Women in Art” Twitter® sweepstakes. The sweepstakes commences on International Women’s Day on Monday, March 8, 2010.

The “Women in Art” sweepstakes, running from Monday, March 8 at 12 a.m. ET through Wednesday, March 31 at 11:50 p.m., is an online promotion that lets consumers send a Twitter® message that automatically enters them in a sweepstakes. Three (3) people will win a 20” x 24” inch museum quality handmade oil painting reproduction featured in the Women’s Gallery, http://www.overstockart.com/women.html.  Those interested in entering the contest need only post a tweet about historical women in the arts that includes #overstockArt and the URL http://www.artcorner.com/press/twitter-promo/ to participate. Three winners will be selected at the end of the sweepstakes period.

To enter the contest, consumers must tweet a message stating which historical woman artist or historical woman depicted in art is their favorite from their personal Twitter® account. Participants may choose to post an original tweet, to re-tweet the tweet listed on the sweepstakes homepage: http://www.artcorner.com/press/twitter-promo/, or to re-tweet another entrant’s tweet – any of these options will result in an entry into the contest. Sweepstakes winners will be selected with a random generator and will be posted on http://www.artcorner.com/press/twitter-promo/ the week following March 31st.
