March 7, 2010 - PRLog -- Belfast (March 05, 2010) - Kelsius, market leader in the provision of wireless temperature monitoring solutions for the pharma, healthcare and food sectors, announce the launch of its innovative Cold Chain Portal.

Traditionally, environmental data and other information pertaining to the cold chain have been collated and archived independently using a variety of PC based software applications. By utilising Kelsius's unique wireless sensor network and Software as a Service, key data from a broad spectrum of operational points can be automatically communicated to a central repository known as the Cold Chain Portal.  Here the data is processed and presented in a standardised format using sophisticated on-line software. The portal can be hosted by Kelsius as a managed service or operated as part of a corporate intranet.

In essence, the Cold Chain Portal enables clients to maintain a robust audit trail from diverse sources in a unified fashion and on a platform that can be easily accessed and securely shared with others.

The following are examples of data hosted by Kelsius on the Cold Chain Portal:

1. Wireless Static Sensors

Kelsius offer real-time monitoring/alarming of parameters, such as temperature, humidity, pressure, O2, CO2,         motion, and door opening events, within controlled storage and testing environments.

2. Wireless Mapping Sensors

By using the Kelsius Mapping Kit, automated mapping reports of storage areas are produced on the Cold Chain Portal.

3. Data Entry Clients

Wall-mountable operator stations and PDAs can be used to record key data associated with quality processes and     automatically communicate this information to the portal.

4. USB Dataloggers

By leveraging the cold chain portal Kelsius have the ability to monitor the temperature of products during transit ensuring they maintain their quality.  As well as extracting data from Kelsius' sensors we can also support third party USB dataloggers.

5. Real-time Monitoring In-Transit

By utilising cellular networks, Kelsius can provide clients with real-time temperature monitoring of goods during     transportation providing a live data feed on the Cold Chain Portal.

6. Corporate Management Information Systems

Kelsius have the ability to interface with Corporate Management Information Systems allowing clients to collate relevant company documentation and procedures to a centralised location enabling suppliers and customers to securely share information.
Kelsius Product Specialist, Phil Berry, said "A large number of Kelsius clients are successfully utilising the Cold Chain Portal to reliably monitor the traceability of the cold chain.  The feedback has been extremely positive with users enjoying the ability to wirelessly collate data in a central location that can be shared 24/7 with colleagues and clients helping improve compliance and productivity."
