Mar. 7, 2010 - The “Uplifting Minds II” Entertainment Conference starts 2010 off in Baltimore on Saturday April 17, 2010 at Sojourner-Douglass College from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. It will start with seminars from entertainment attorney Paul Gardner, Esq. and media/public relations/promotions specialist Eunice Moseley, and end with its national talent competition showcase with Urban Gospel’s Prayz1 and actress Angela Maria Dixon serving on the panel of judges.
In 2006 Gospel rapper Prayz1 released his debut CD, “The Difference,”
a mixture of Hip-Hop music guided by Gospel lyrics. This Urban Gospel artist had hits from that CD such as “Church Fan,” “God has a Plan” and “Victory.”
Late last year Prayz1 released his sophomore project “Seat Music” where he shows off his singing capibilities and the diversity of his band, The Underdogz. On the latest project Prayz1 is joined by Tye Tribbett on “Better.” Other songs on the CD “Faith,” “Stronger”
and “Hold On” are getting heavy radio airplay.
Angela Maria Dixon took to acting, singing and dancing like a fish takes to water. Her acting experiences include roles in the blockbuster Gods and Generals; the comedic film Hair Show; the comedy “Internet Dating” with Katt Williams, and has appeared on numerious television shows such as “The Wire” and “The Parkers.” This SAG member’s newest - yet to be filmed – project is a remake of Breakfast Club titled “Saturday Detention” starring Ernest Thomas (Everybody Hates Chris).
As a vocalist this Marylander is currently promoting two songs she wrote titled “Breathe” and “Press the Issue.”
Talent will compete in three categories – vocal, songwriting and dance – for the ULMII Award for being the best and a list of prizes that include a free music video (www.BenFosterFilms.com)
