To Debut March 13th on 4SD
Encinitas, CA The Good Food Factory, a cooking show for kids and their families, is scheduled to air March 13th on 4SD Saturday afternoons at 2:30pm.
The Good Food Factory is a groundbreaking T.V. show as it is not only one of the first cooking shows ever created for kids, it could also be said it is the very first HEALTHY one to ever hit the airwaves. The Good Food Factory aims to make healthy food fun by teaching kids how to cook “good food, with good friends, from scratch!”
Each half hour episode follows host, Amanda, as she meets with a friend who needs her help, comes up with a recipe and they learn how to cook it together! The kids come to Amanda for help because she loves to cook, she loves helping her friends and she is fun! Amanda is never afraid of making a mess, or being silly and she comes up with the coolest things to make that are also DELICIOUS! Sometimes Amanda and her friends come across things in the recipe that confuse them, so they just ask people that they know for advice! Advice comes from Grandmas, famous chefs, rad surfers and sometimes even little tiny men that live in canisters. And at the end of each episode? You guessed it! They eat the yummy food they just created!
Originally shot in Brooklyn in 2007, Creator and Host Amanda Curry decided to move operations to Encinitas in 2008, where cooking and eating healthy was part of everyday life. “I wanted to live a healthier and more active lifestyle myself, so I picked up and moved to Encinitas, where the waves were plentiful, fruit grew on the trees and kids could still be kids” says Curry.
It turned out to be a smart move, as 4SD picked the show up for the current pilot season. Starting March 13th, The Good Food Factory will air the existing 4 pilot episodes “Mother’s Day Mystery, Dog Biscuits for Lola, Sleeping Bag Roll-Ups and Surfboard Sandwiches”.
“I give 4SD a ton of credit for putting The Good Food Factory on air. They’ve long had a successful eye for what San Diego wants to see and we’re honored to be shown on the same channel as Sam the Cooking Guy and the Padres!”
If ratings and audience responses are good, The Good Food Factory will go into production on a full season, creating more yummy food for kids and their families.
“This show is important. Kids and adults both need this show.” Curry further states, “We need to remember that being healthy and active is fun, way more fun! I hope kids watch it, love it and want to cook everything they see on The Good Food Factory. And I also hope they tell everyone they know to watch it! I want to make more healthy food with kids, right here in Encinitas!”
