Less Lethal Africa is a developer of the all-plastic 12 gauge case that fires less lethal munitions, including the double ball baton and flash-bang rounds, used by law enforcement around the world for crowd control. “The intention is to stop unlawful activity and gain compliance from people breaking the law, but not to kill them” says Mr. Rickard.
A new, and unique, addition to Less Lethal Africa’s ammunition product range is the Pepper Bullet. “This too is a world first which will be available soon” says Mr. Rickard. “It is a great performer which provides a significant kinetic impact, then breaks open releasing powerful capsaicin pepper powder” adds Mr. Rickard. Capsaicin causes temporary blindness and considerable pain.
The world-first 12 gauge case is attracting escalating interest from around the globe. “Our case is cost effective” says Mr. Rickard. “Additionally there can be material savings in shipping cost. The power unit part of the case which holds the propellant powder and primer can be stored and shipped separately from the rest of the load.”
Less Lethal Africa is setting up operations to supply worldwide and appointing distributors and licensees to manage full assembly in their own countries. Products are environmentally responsible. “You don’t even need electric power to load our unique 12ga case,” says Mr. Rickard.
“We will soon be offering lethal ammunition and calibers aside from 12 gauge,” says Mr. Rickard. “We are pursuing opportunities where it is possible to develop and manufacture quality ammunition at a good price.”
