Sun Shines on Calypso's Summer Sales Outlook Thanks To Press & Protect

March 5, 2010 - PRLog -- Holiday makers are buying peace of mind when they choose a sun cream by Calypso, the only range with pre-measured pump-action dispensers that deliver optimum protection, according to the manufacturer’s head of product development.

For the cleverly designed pumps dispense precise volumes of sun lotion so users can ensure they are applying at least the recommended minimum of 35 mls of sun protection per application, said Mr Seena Seka, from the company’s Carrington, Manchester HQ.

Speaking after a survey had shown the peace of mind that comes with the product is rated very highly by customers, Mr Seka said he expected sales to soar this summer with sun safety awareness among the public being higher than ever.

“Sun safety is central to our ethos as a company,” said Mr Seka. “That is why we worked so hard to develop the first dispenser that enables the user to be absolutely sure that they are using the correct minimum amount of sun protection.

“This development means Calypso is again leading the field and I believe our investment in innovation will reap rewards this summer when British holiday makers will be looking for sun protection that they can trust.”

The new Calypso sun care range carries a press and protect chart which informs the user of the number of times they need to press the pump to dispense the correct amount of sun protection. Three presses dispense enough sun cream to cover an arm from hand to shoulder and four presses for the back.

“We have always recommended that people regularly apply generous amounts of sun protection when exposed to the sun, added Mr Seka. “ We even came up with the ‘egg-cup full’ analogy to help users because it equates to 35 mls, the generally accepted amount required to protect an average body.

“So when we started work on developing our unique pre-measured dispensers we naturally used 35 mls as the minimum volume of protection required.”

Research by manufacturers Linco Care, suggested that the vast majority of people use far too little sun cream to protect themselves adequately both at home or abroad. So Mr Seka decided to come up with a simple means of ensuring any member of the public could be certain they are using the correct minimum amount of sun protection.

“The press and protect dispenser is available on Calypso’s sun lotion range including SPF 6, 10, 15, 20 and 30,” added Mr Seka.

“Not only does sun cream ensure your skin does not burn, it will also help moisturise and combat skin damage.”
