Vancouver, BC – The new CAS Modbus Scanner, latest version 1.02aB, has been released by Chipkin Automation Systems Inc. on February 2, 2010. This release adds support for Modbus/TCP. Automation professionals can download the multi-tasking program for free and without having to register. The software runs without limitations and without annoying delays while waiting for sponsor messages.
Modbus is a serial communication protocol for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and is now widely used in many devices such as Power Meters, Gas Analyzers and other field instrumentation. An engineer can use CAS Modbus Scanner to read coil status (0xxxx), input status(2xxxx)
CAS Modbus Scanner works with RS232, RS485 and TCP/IP. Multiple connections allow it to easily interfaced. This is an utility for Windows machines, it requires 10 MB of free hard drive space and one free serial port on the computer. CAS Modbus Scanner can be downloaded on http://www.chipkin.com/
