Ms. Matheson used her leisure time when she found herself single after a 42 year marriage to write a book for all women in her situation. Interviewing hundreds of women all over the United States she has written what amounts to an upbeat handbook of positive ways to be happy now. And in the chapter titled Take a Lover, she tells us exactly how to do that. One lesson: “A single woman should always sparkle.” states Matheson.
Walter M. Bortz II MD says “Bonnie B. Matheson in her radiant tales of self-efficacy says it best: ‘own yourself’.”
Stepping aside from her traditional role as wife and mother, Ms. Matheson has taken a new direction. As a health and wellness coach, inspirational speaker and advocate for those over 50, she may shock some with her frankness. But she is sincere in her desire to help Boomers reinvent themselves.
Ms. Matheson says: “Only a few years ago I would never have thought I would find myself as a single woman telling others how great life can be after 50. Wisdom and experience makes everything look different and better, now. No one told us about this. This is the best time of our lives.”
Although the book is titled Ahead of the Curve, an intimate conversation with women in the second half of life, it appeals to men as well. They say they learn a lot about women from it. The book is available in selected book stores and on Amazon.com, Barnesand Noble.com and at www.readaheadofthecurve.com The publisher is Wheatmark Books. It is available for your Kindle, too.
