Cross-USA Rollerbladers for Charity Roll into Austin

March 4, 2010 - PRLog -- AUSTIN, Texas – Two athletes are attempting to raise one million dollars for two causes by rollerblading across the USA in a project called "In Motion For A  Million".  On Friday, March 5 and Saturday, March 6, the team will be in Austin, Texas, as part of their fundraising attempt before continuing on towards San Diego, California.  The monies raised will benefit the Huntington’s Disease Society of America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  The team has already raised several thousands of dollars since the kick off on February 1, 2010, in St. Augustine, Florida.

Both athletes have lost a close family member to the diseases that they are fighting for.  Participant and co-founder of In Motion For A Million, Steven Feigenbaum explains: “After a ten year fight with Huntington's, my aunt passed away. Unfortunately, it doesn't end there.  My cousins, her daughters, are now at risk of developing the disease as well.  There is a fifty percent chance.  This is why I get up each morning and continue this journey.  My feet are beginning to get extremely sore but I know that I need to continue on...for my aunt, my cousins and everyone struggling with this horrific disease."

The In Motion For A Million team will be in Austin on Friday, March 5 and on Saturday, March 6.  On Friday night, an impromtu fundraiser is planning to be held for the team at an Austin night club.  Details still to come.

On Sunday, March 7, the team will continue on through Buda and Mountain City to Wimberley and then through Blanco and Sisterdale to Waring on March 8.
