bhu:sattva, a brand owned by Ahmedabad based company RISING TRADELINK LIMITED(RTLL), has become an unprecedented name in the organic designer wear segment. The fact that the brand caters to a number of growing needs of today’s concerned consumers with equal emphasis on environmental issues and social responsibility of business, makes a shopper fall in love with it. RTLL, which has been successfully catering to the needs of organic foods of its clients has brought together all possible genes of modern clothing in terms of finest designer, best organic fabrics from all across traditional land of India, purest natural herbal dyes for coloring and the best sustainable natural resources of heritage India, to give rise to the brand bhu:sattva.
In today’s artificial world, most of the things around us don’t have the essence of nature and the apparel industry is not an exception either. Use of fertilizers and pesticides in the fields where the seeds are sown & grown, and harmful chemicals & artificial colors in the factories, ultimately harm the user’s skin and health. Moreover, the whole manufacturing chain leaves innumerable ill & sometimes dead farmers, technicians & craftsmen behind. bhu:sattva is an exception, where it’s working to help India by empowering the craftsmen & technicians both economically and socially and its initiatives towards encouraging the multicultural and ethnical influences by reviving the ancient and languishing arts which will collectively & significantly alter and shape the Indian textiles, is admirable.
Mr. Digvijay Singh, who is exclusively designing for the only brand, is furnishing his immensely creative designs to match the taste of today’s and tomorrow’s generations. The brand, now available in a number of chic and elite stores in most of the cities, both in India & abroad, has also been in the limelight because of its participation in the last two seasons of Lakme Fashion Week (LFW)— FALL/WINTER ’09 and SPRING/ SUMMER ’10. It won accolades from all sections of the industry especially because of the unique nexus that the brand has created between organic fabrics and fashion.
Continuing its success story at the LFW, BHU:SATTVA is going to participate this time too in LFW SUMMER/ RESORT ’10 and the collection is inspired by the concept “Anekantavada”.  It has been the distinctive thinking of Mr. Jainam Kumarpal, owner of RTLL’s bhu:sattva, that brings the exceptional blend of Anekantavada with fashion.
Taken from one of the most important and fundamental doctrines in Jainism, “Anekantavada” refers to absolute- relativity. Many of us might have heard the parable of “Six Blind Men and the Elephant”, where the men who had heard a lot about elephants but never seen one before, come across a chance encounter with the animal. Each of the men feels a separate part of its body and concludes it to be something totally different from reality. The parable tells us about the fundamental notion that truth and reality are perceived differently from diverse points of view, and that no single point of view is the complete truth.
States Mr. Jainam Kumarpal, owner of bhu:sattva, “Ontologically Anekantavada means that reality is many-sided, it has manifold aspects, and it has infinite characters. Similarly, any form of organic growth can be perceived differently by each individual- whether it is a cluster of flora or a string of vines, they all travel distances and metamorphose into myriad facets. This SUMMMER/ RESORT ’10 collection represents simultaneous transformations. It speaks of the two different aspects that exist in everything around us and even of the same aspect that is perceived differently each time - an ode to the ever changing points of view”.
Mr. Kumarpal adds, “Logically, Anekantavada means theory of relative judgment. It warns us very mindful while translating our relative and partial knowledge into verbal expression.”
Designer for RTLL’s brand bhu:sattva, Mr. DigVijay Singh claims, “Resort, in itself, can have many interpretations - quality time with family, leisure and luxury or even tranquillity, peace and also meditation. This collection is a colourful blend of Indian and Western cuts and silhouettes. The garments are sometimes flowing in harmony with the contours of the body and sometimes tamed for a formal evening attendance. The palette is largely pastel with a smattering of brick reds and maroons, beiges and mustards, blacks and greys, etc.”
The world around us today is everything but pure and natural. At a time, when issues like pollution and global warming are questioning human existence, bhu:sattva comes as a fresh air of relief and promises to make people change the way they look at clothing and fashion. Bhu:sattva’s LFW ANEKANTAVADA collection is surely something to wait and watch out for — the brand is gradually  evolving as  the future of fashion.
