The purpose of the branch is to provide a full range of travel solutions such as travel packages, ticketing, and hotel accommodation, in addition to Hajj and Umrah, to residents of Sohag and neighboring cities.
The launch dinner party took place at the Nile Hotel in Sohag, and was attended by numerous government officials, journalists, and travel agents, in addition to several representatives from Travco Group namely Mr. Magdy Tawfik, Financial Manager Travco Travel, Mr. Abdel Moaty El Zenaty, Retail Branches Manager, Mr. Osama Hussein, Deputy Retail Branches Manager, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Manager Travco Luxor, Mr. Hamed Abdel Maaboud, Accounting Manager Retail Branches and Mr. Hany El Molahez Travco Sohag Manager, and staff.
At the beginning of the event, Mr. Magdy Tawfik briefed attendees about Travco Group’s achievements over the years, and gave a presentation explaining the services that the new Travco Sohag branch will be offering its clients.
Sohag is home to some of Egypt’s most sought after historical sites, and is planned to be one of new tourist attractions in Egypt, with several projects in the pipeline. The governorate has recently constructed a 90-kilometer road between Kharga and Sohag, an extension to an Upper Egypt-Red Sea road. This road will link Qena, Sohag and Assiut to the Red Sea governorate. Additionally the Misr Company for Sound and Light will also examine means of establishing projects in the governorate in light of the growing number of influx tourists in the governorate, which hit 350,000 in 2007, and is expected to rise. Additionally, an international airport is currently in the works to facilitate flying to and from this new and budding city.
