14833 Midway Road Addison, TX 75001. Speakers from all over the Metroplex will lead workshops on natural , healthy ways to live. The event is free and open to the public.
Dr. Darlene Tryon Naturopath and owner of Jubilee of Health, will be the keynote speaker and will give an overview of the crisis in African-American Health and will offer alternative naturopathic remedies.
Stewart says she hopes the expo will create an awareness of natural alternatives to traditional health care and also boost awareness of vendors who sell natural, cultural or unique products or service.
Last Month's expo drew close to 100, participants, who enjoyed raffles, music, product demonstrations, and informational seminars. Organizers hope to double attendance during their March expo more raffles, consultations, vendors and workshops. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, African Americans make up about 12.9% of the U.S. population, or 36.4 million individuals. Even though they comprise a relatively small percentage of the population, as a minority group African Americans often suffer a greater percentage of incidence of many of the leading health conditions in the United States.
