(New York) She Creates Change and the Women's Education Project will present an International Women's Day Celebration at the James Corbett Studios in New York City, and screen EQUALITY, a Short Documentary by Filmmaker and Director Al Sutton. The event, slated for 7 pm on Monday, March 8, 2010, will raise money for the Women’s Education Project which prepares young women in South India from impoverished backgrounds to have access to higher education to improve their lives, families and communities.
She Creates Change and Women’s Education Project, who both work to develop women to achieve their fullest potential, are coming together to celebrate women’s accomplishments on this special day. The inspirational, short documentary EQUALITY celebrates a significant event of the Women's movement, the "Women's Strike for Equality", an unforgettable gathering of more than fifty thousand women and men that took place in New York City in the summer of 1970. The "Women's Strike"was part of the Feminist Movement in the United States that started in the 1960's, and commemorated the fiftieth anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution, which gave women the right to vote. Filmmaker Al Sutton shares this event with the rare footage that takes us into the heart of the rally, portraying the collective power of women.
The She Creates Change and Women's Education Project International Women's Day Celebration at the James Corbett Studio will be a memorable evening of networking, pampering, motivational speeches and film, celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future. The James Corbett Studio is located at 32 Union Square East, Suite 211, New York City. For further information link to: http://www.facebook.com/
