RMI Consulting, Inc., the risk management consulting firm headquartered in Port Washington, NY, today announced the appointment of Joseph Peiser as Partner and Chief Operating Officer. He will assume responsibilities immediately.
“Joseph Peiser brings vast experience in insurance and risk management consulting to RMI,” stated RMI Consulting President MaryAnn Sackman. “His background and talents will contribute to our growth and the expansion of our service offerings. As co-founders of this firm, James Barber and I welcome Joe as a Partner in RMI and we all look forward to benefiting from his significant expertise in the insurance arena.”
As COO, Peiser will oversee the day-to-day management of RMI Consulting and the firm’s risk purchasing division, RPG Management.
“RMI Consulting is a leader in risk management consulting, representing a worldwide client base,” said Peiser. “I look forward to being a part of RMI’s strategic team, ensuring the best in client service and providing risk management solutions to existing and new client industries.”
Prior to joining RMI, Peiser was the sole proprietor of Silver Lining Insurance Consulting, providing a range of insurance and risk management consulting services. Previously, his career spanned two decades at Marsh Inc. — the world’s largest insurance brokerage services firm — where he held increasingly significant positions. Ultimately, as Managing Director of Marsh Global Placement North America, he oversaw 1,000 employees across the U.S., Europe and Bermuda dedicated to the company’s centralized $12 billion annual insurance brokerage business across all lines of Property & Casualty insurance.
According to Peiser, “RMI enjoys a wonderful reputation — it has differentiated itself by filling the role of risk manager on behalf of small- and mid-sized clients. By uniting a client base by industry — food, real estate, medical or other — they leverage purchasing power to improve coverage and contain insurance costs for each.”
A native New Yorker, Peiser attended Regis High School and Columbia University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude and earned a scholarship to study at Oxford University. Peiser earned a Masters in Business Administration, awarded with honors by Columbia University in 2003.
In addition to being recognized with career achievement awards and sustaining certifications to remain current within his field of business, Peiser’s professional distinctions include guest speaking at national insurance conventions.
Joseph Peiser and his wife, an elementary school teacher, make their home in Glen Rock, New Jersey, where they are busy raising three children.
