As many alumni know, FIUAA already boasts the fastest-growing membership of any alumni association in the nation. We are proud of the interest and support our alumni have shown FIU, and are pleased to announce the establishment of a partnership with Revo Payments, a digital payment company with national reach, that will further strengthen FIUAA’s fundraising efforts as well as play a significant role in funding the much-anticipated creation of the FIU Alumni Center.
Spearheaded by FIU alumnus Michael Corbera, Revo Payments CEO, and former FIU baseball player Marcos Batista, the company’s General Manager for Academics, the FIUAA-Revo Payments partnership will enable the alumni office to receive long-term recurring donations which will supplement traditional one-time gifts, while supporting the creation of continuous, value-based relationships with their alumni base.
Under the partnership, FIU Alumni who establish a business account with Revo Payments will be able to donate to the alumni office through your merchant account: Each time you use Revo Payments to process your electronic payments (e-checks, credit cards, and e-commerce) the company will donate 10 percent of its profits to the alumni office in the name of your business.
In short, every time a customer uses their credit card at any of these businesses, or any time you accept a business check, FIUAA benefits! All donations are fully tax deductible, both alumni and partner businesses benefit as well.
“Both as a business man and an alumnus of FIU, I understand how important partnerships and relationships are to the success of any endeavor,” explains Mike Corbera. “We at Revo feel strongly that as our company grows, we want to extend the power of partnerships to organizations like FIUAA. Through this program we seek to empower alumni business owners and managers to give back to FIU while improving their own margins.”
In addition to the company’s fundraising efforts, Revo Payments plans to establish a multi-level program to engage and introduce current students to various industries and create environments for campus leaders and alumni to meet and interact with the school, including the establishment of internships, educational seminars, CEO dinners, and company visits, to broaden the ability of both alumni and area businesses to create a community with FIU.
“I believe that this visionary program will benefit the Alumni Association, FIU, and participating businesses by helping to found valuable, and enduring partnerships and relationships,”
