The Southampton based firm have expanded their operation to deal with this growth and in anticipation of future demand, will launch new products in each quarter of 2010.
To be able to cope with the surge in demand, SPI lasers have invested in recruitment, with particular focus on sales, manufacturing and engineering positions. The Company have also expanded operational space, doubling the manufacturing floor space in their Hampshire headquarters.
With the growth in their engineering operations, sales will become an increasingly important area for the business in the year ahead. In order to accommodate the increased interest, SPI Lasers have relocated their US Corporate Office to a larger facility in Santa Clara. Further investments include improved stocking and product support facilities in Asia. Here in the UK, the Company has unveiled a brand new, cutting edge application lab and customer suite to compliment their existing operations.
SPI Lasers showcased a number of their new and emerging products at Photonics West. Technologies on show included an M2=4 Low moded 400W micro-welding laser, the redENERGY single moded pulsed laser as well as a redENERGY 40W (20kW peak power) pulsed laser. These are just some of the product developments that have contributed to the growth in business for the Company since their release in mid-2009.
