One of the Midlands’ leading agricultural shows is to be held at a new venue and on a new date this year.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 03, 2010 -
One of the Midlands’ leading agricultural shows is to be held at a new venue and on a new date this year.

The Kenilworth Show attracts thousands of people from across the country every year and will take place on Saturday, June 5 on a 50 acre site directly opposite the main entrance of the National Agricultural Centre (NAC) in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire.

The traditional country show has been held annually by The Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society since 1944 with the last ten events taking place at Hurst Farm on Crackley Lane near Kenilworth.

The 67th Kenilworth Show will also be the first held on a Saturday, having traditionally taken place on the first Sunday in June.

Organising committee chair Cynthia Mold said she was confident switching the day of the event would help attract even more visitors and that the new venue would also prove to be popular.

“The site opposite the NAC is in a really great location, close to Kenilworth, Leamington and Coventry and we are really pleased to have secured it for this year’s event,” she said.

“We will have use of three large fields for all the various entertainment, exhibitions and events held on the day, while the site also benefits from having really good road access from Stoneleigh Road and lots of space for car parking.

“We would like to thank Tom Steele for accommodating us at Hurst Farm as we enjoyed ten great years there, but we have moved location as the site is unavailable.

“This is a new chapter in the history of the Kenilworth Show and I’m sure thousands of people will enjoy the event on June 5 as it is always such a great day out.”

The show will host the usual agricultural and equestrian classes and feature a wide range of homecraft competitions and trade stands and various activities for all the family. Further attractions will be announced in the run up to the show.
