In a surprise move that took government and particularly industry leaders aback, Mediazone Group’s flagship publication Hong Kong’s Most Valuable Companies declared QUALITY as the central theme for 2010 at a press meet last evening in Hong Kong.
The announcement ended months of speculation as the Group was widely expected to pick “Environment”
Each year, Mediazone Group publishes its popular business annual titled Hong Kong’s Most Valuable Companies, received and read by Asia’s most influential. The title turns a decade old in 2011, thanks to support from local hongs, international taipans and clearly, Beijing.
The annual is a well regarded publishing success, the first of its kind to cater to both B2B and B2C segments and is a virtual treasure trove of knowledge nuggets for the business world.
Though disappointed, key players from the Environment and Innovation sectors are still hopeful the anniversary annual will extend to address their needs, the central theme being Quality is expected to steal most, if not all, the thunder.
Asia’s Quality industry has nearly quadrupled over the last five years with record number of companies getting ISO9000 certified, testing and certifying bodies doing brisk business especially in the Greater China region.
Mediazone’s Group CEO Glenn Rogers said, ‘improvisation is no longer a choice but a necessity. The recession has brought global business to that point. In the fierce battle for the consumer dollar, customers need to know which brands are based on true quality. Today’s discerning internet-savvy customer is more sophisticated and informed than ever. Companies serious about growth have no option but to embrace quality.”
