March 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Girl Friday bursts into spring 2010 with fresh, feminine fashions

(TORONTO, Ontario) – POPULAR Toronto fashion designer Rebecca Nixon is thrilled to launch her eagerly awaited Girl Friday Spring 2010 collection. Girl Friday Spring 2010 is a fabulous assortment of fresh florals, sumptuous jerseys, and crisp cottons. While still remaining true to signature styles, Nixon has incorporated slimmer silhouettes and slightly higher hemlines, adding spice to Spring 2010.

Since her debut in 2002, Nixon has garnered a growing following of astute women who appreciate her timeless line of high quality apparel. Inspired by friends and colleagues, Nixon's signature style balances versatility and femininity with good value. Because of the superior fit and comfort, Girl Friday dresses become instant favourites in clients' wardrobes and are perfect for all occasions. Each Girl Friday signature piece is proudly designed and manufactured in Canada.

“To me, it’s more environmentally friendly to pay a little bit more for a dress that’s well made and manufactured in Canada and will last for years, rather than spending less and throwing it away after three washes. Creating, manufacturing and shipping a dress from start to finish within Canada helps cut down our carbon footprint a little, and every bit counts,” states Nixon. Nixon is also exhibiting her desire to be eco-conscious by experimenting with new textiles. Spring 2010 includes dresses using bamboo fabric in a collection of juicy colours.  She is also planning more excursions into “alternate and eco-friendly” endeavours.

Nixon’s Girl Friday collection is widely available in discriminating independent boutiques across Canada, as well as at her two flagship stores (Girl Friday) located in downtown Toronto. The stores also carry a carefully handpicked collection of more than thirty other designers from Canada, the United States and Europe—such as Soia & Kyo (Montreal), Dish (Vancouver), Michael Kors (New York), and Nougat (U.K.).

The retail locations are much like Nixon's own designs—both fashionable and classic, with a range of items for any body shape and price point. The Girl Friday boutique experience is 'like shopping with your best friend' and offers a fun, comfortable environment to uncover your next fashion find.
