Today marks the one year anniversary of the Holiday Inn Lexington North/Georgetown. Despite a devastating fire the Holiday Inn has risen from the ashes to become a staple in the Georgetown community. The hotel was two months away from opening when the hotel was struck by lightning not once but twice. "The fire was devastating,"
said Chris Hatfield General Manager of the Holiday Inn and Director of Operations for Rainmaker Hospitality. The fire was one of the largest in Georgetown's history. "The thought of walking away from this project never entered our mind," Hatfield said. "The city of Georgetown needed an upscale full service hotel and we were determined to deliver." The Holiday Inn is a full service hotel with 85 guest rooms, 2000 sq.ft., of meeting space, indoor swimming pool, exercise facility and features Kem's Restaurant & Lounge.
