Globanet Upgrades its Message Archiving Solution Merge1 v2.6

Los Angeles, CA, and New York, NY – Globanet (www.globanet.com), a global leader in specialized software for data migration, announced today the latest enhancements to its message archiving solution, Merge1 v2.6.  Building upon the December 2009 release, which featured a generic database ingestion system, the newest enhancements allow for the ingestion of Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) messages into messaging applications such as Microsoft Exchange or directly into Symantec’s Enterprise Vault archiving system.

Microsoft OCS is a chat server that is hosted internally by an organization’s IT department that stores all text based messages in a SQL server database.  This data can be difficult for businesses to ingest for compliance purposes.  Merge1 resolves this issue by reading the data stored in the SQL database, converting the chat messages into email and subsequently enabling customers to store them in Exchange or a variety of archiving platforms.  As a result, organizations can quickly and easily enhance their adherence to SEC compliance standards.

Merge1 is a snap-in module which works in conjunction with any archiving platform. It is quick and easy to install and use, yet it provides unparalleled performance as it unites disparate data sources into one centralized, consolidated archive allowing for streamlined search and recovery processes.  Enterprises can choose to use all of the message and data types available “out-of-the-box” with Merge1 or they can select only those that their particular business needs require them to retain.  Customers may even partner with Globanet/Symantec to customize Merge1 to ingest other message or data types for retention.
