Londoner Fuses Social Media, Crm And On-street Activity In Global Marketing Competition Entry

Saif Bonar has been nominated as a finalist in the Freelancer.com “expose our logo” competition. A freelance developer and online marketeer he created a character, Sir Freelancerlot, whose mission was to roam London exposing the freelancer logo.

Dressed from head to toe as a knight in shining armour, Freelancerlot walked more than 8 miles of central London stopping to take pictures with Tourists and passers by. His mission saw him attend key attractions like Westminster Abbey, the National Gallery, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square,  Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, the Houses of Parliament and Downing Street.

The competition, organised by Freelancer.com, the biggest freelance marketplace in the world has a first prize of $10,000! The public are invited to vote for the winner of the “People's choice award” on the freelancer website.

Freelancerlot's on street promotional activity was backed up by a Twitter page (www.twitter.com/ifreelancerlot) which was updated throughout the day. The twitter feed is followed by a number of celebrities and politicians including Nick Clegg MP, Karl Rove (former chief of staff to G W Bush), Yoko Ono, Belinda Carlisle and Arnold Schwarzenegger's wife.  

In addition to the Twitter account a Facebook Group (accessible from www.whichlance.com) was set-up which has attracted almost 100 members and has served as focal point for online and offline activity.

A YouTube channel also documents the on-street activity which was undertaken, with a selection of videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/sirfreelancerlot

Saif has pledged 50% of any winnings to Breakthrough Breast Cancer, the leading Breast Cancer Charity in the UK.
