Pete Robertson, an Infantryman with the Oregon National Guard, deployed to Iraq in July 2009. In August he began writing a screenplay for a supernatural thriller in his spare time. By the middle of September he finished the first draft for “The Grave and The Rose.” Now Hollywood is starting to take notice.
Several actors are attached to the film, which Robertson is planning on producing and directing himself. Cali Lili Hauser is attached as a detective. Veteran actor Wings Hauser, known for his gritty, realistic characters in films like Dead Man Walking, The Siege of Firebase Gloria, The Insider and television shows like China Beach and The Young and The Restless is also attached.
The script is a supernatural thriller about a detective investigating a professor that was researching the occult. When the body is stolen from the cemetery she tries to infiltrate a cult to flush out the murderer. Robertson plans on filming the movie in Portland when he returns.
Robertson also started going to acting classes to find actors to appear in his films. He appeared in some television commercials and had some minor roles in TNT's Leverage. He was cast in two independent feature films but had to withdraw after being activated to deploy to Iraq.
