As Soul/Pop artist, Priscilla Renea’s new single, “Lovesick,”
impacts radio, it’s already been crowned the new favorite among her fans. The mid-tempo emotional declaration has spawned countless covers on YouTube.
Produced by Power Entertainment’
s own, Blaq Smurph, “Lovesick,”
is the second track off of Priscilla Renea’s debut album, “Jukebox,”
which is in stores now. The catchy tune depicts the challenges of a forbidden love. “…and it seemed like if I mentioned you when I was home, all my family said is how I should leave you alone, “ expresses Priscilla. “Lovesick,”
the follow-up single to “Dollhouse,”
is also one of the stand-out songs, as noted in album reviews. “She delivers well-crafted lyrics on top of strong production,”
echoed the Associated Press. Fans will have an opportunity to see Priscilla perform “Lovesick”
in March on “The Monique Show” and throughout the summer on the Lilith Fair tour.
Since the release, Priscilla has been busy promoting the album with showcases and performances throughout the country, including opening for acts like The Backstreet Boys, The All American Rejects, and Colbie Caillat. In December, Priscilla made her first national television appearance on MTV’s “It’s On with Alexa Chung.” “Jukebox,”
the 2009 iTunes staff pick for Best Pop Album, contains 10 songs, 9 of which were co-written by Priscilla. In between performances, Priscilla has been penning tunes with award-winning producers and songwriters including Dapo (Brandy, Jordan Sparks), David Archuleta (recording artist), The Squares (new artists, Interscope), Jimmy Harry (Pink, Britney Spears), Scott Cutler and Anne Preve (Katy Perry, Jennifer Hudson).
