West Cornwall Perspectives
3rd-9th May 2010, 9.30am-6.30pm
54 The Gallery, Shepherd Market, Mayfair, W1J 7QX
This group exhibition includes some of Cornwall’s finest painters, whose work has been exhibited and collected throughout the UK and abroad. Their paintings encompass a broad spectrum of styles, from semi-abstract interpretations of the Penwith landscape to still-life works exploring structure and form.
Artists featured in the exhibition are: Ben Catt, Neil Davies, Brenda King, Jason Lilley, Gary Long, Neil Pinkett, John Piper, Michael Praed and Terry Whybrow. All are heavily influenced by the moors, mines, cliffs and coves that characterise West Cornwall, as well as by the legacy left by the Newlyn and St Ives art communities of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
The exhibition is organised and curated by ELEVEN AND A HALF, a London-based dealership specialising in the works of select artists from West Cornwall. We run regular exhibitions in London and Cornwall as well as attending art fairs across the South East. More details can be found on our website, www.elevenandahalf.com.
