I went right home and took a picture of my desired car from an advertisement and created a beautiful vision board." The next year she revealed to me that she not only got the Rolls Royce, she got the beautiful mansion behind the car on her vision board. She said, "I did not realize until after I moved into that very mansion that it was the exact house I saw on my vision board every day. I not only got the car, I got the house behind the car without meaning to."
Pictures tell a story to your creative mind - Pictures in your mind and pictures on the wall. "On the wall?" you ask. Yes, pictures placed anywhere so that you will see them frequently and make an emotional impression on your creative mind.
Pictures and words attractively arranged on a paper or poster board, called a treasure map, a goal chart, or a dream board, can influence and program your goal machine. It's another way of making your dreams come true.
A goal chart or treasure map should incite enthusiasm for your goals when you look at it. It should create passion within you for those things which you have placed there. When something that is on your goal chart has been accomplished, remove it quickly and update your chart. If your chart is no longer inspiring to you and no longer creates belief about the future accomplishment of your goals, make a new one or update it. If you make an uninteresting boring treasure map, you will accomplish your goals in an uninteresting boring way. If you use inspiring, exciting, colorful pictures and words, you will have an inspiring, exciting, colorful journey to your goals.
One of the best reasons to create a goal chart is that it helps you to become very clear about your goals. Putting your desires on a goal board requires specificity because you must find pictures and create words to go with those pictures. Do not put something on your goal board that is not exactly what you want because you will probably receive it.
How to Make a Goal Chart
Begin collecting pictures and sayings that directly relate to your goal and that are very specific to what you want.
• Divide poster board (if you are making a big one for your wall), or file folder (if you are making a small one to carry with you) into parts.
• You can use different colors for different parts of your chart. Color impresses the mind. Certain colors incite different feelings and emotions for different goals. Possibly green or gold for finances, violet or pink for spiritual aspirations, yellow or blue for personal achievements. Use the colors that give you the right feeling.
• You can use the whole chart for a specific goal or you can divide the chart into the different areas of your life such as Work or Finances, Health, Family & Relationships, Spiritual, Self, Education or any special area you choose. Everyone should have one or more of these charts. Attractively arrange pictures, words, and affirmations on your chart.
• Don't overcrowd.
• Be specific
• Make it inspiring.
• Affirmations specific to each area can be written so that when you review your chart, you can verbally affirm.
• Include a picture of yourself.
• Put money (real or play) in the financial area of your chart.
• Include a picture of Christ or your spiritual source with a saying such as "Divine Wisdom is at work in these situations producing perfect results now."
• Have fun making it and you'll have fun achieving it.
Where Do You Put Your Goal Chart?
Put it in a private place. This is your business and yours alone. It's not something you share or flaunt or brag about prematurely. It is your personal contract with the universe. Put it where you will see it often but others won't. I put my large one in the sitting room adjacent to my bedroom. Only I spend time there, and when I am there, I usually can take a moment to enjoy it.
You have specific energy directions, based on your birthday, that bring positive vibrations to you. You have four personal best directions. One is your Success Direction. When you place your vision board in this direction, you will find that your success comes quicker. Place your vision board in this direction in your bedroom, your office, or your living room, which ever room/s in which you spend at least five hours a day.

A family made a family goal chart because they wanted to take a Hawaiian vacation. On the colorful chart, they placed beautiful pictures of Hawaii and people having fun there. The Hawaiian vacation came about, and even though it was well planned, an unusual unplanned occurrence led them to something which they never intended to put in their Hawaiian vacation plans: riding horses. When they returned home and looked at their goal chart, they realized that one of the pictures had people riding horses in the background. This is a good example to illustrate that the creative mind takes you and your pictures literally.
