Layer three: Underneath the decor layer is what is known as the core layer. This layer is made from wood based materials and gives the laminate flooring its strength and durability.
Layer four: Finally on the base of the flooring lies the backing layer. As laminate floors are floating floors and are installed on underlay, the backing layer is there to increase stability and also acts as a moisture barrier.
