March 2, 2010 - PRLog -- Pragmatic EA Ltd (www.PragmaticEA.com) releases its second version of the Pragmatic Enterprise Architecture Framework (PEAF). PEAF bridges the gap between minimal "EA Frameworks" which do not provide a complete set of what is required or huge monolithic “EA Frameworks” that are too difficult to understand and difficult to use.

PEAF is a vendor and consultancy independent, technology neutral, Enterprise Architecture Framework which allows organisations to kick start or re-start an EA initiative and provides a comprehensive set of Products and Processes of everything required to hit the ground running.

PEAF v2 is composed of two fundamental parts; Products and Processes. The Products section provides all the products required to undertake and sustain an EA initiative split into 4 sections; Foundation, Culture, Model, Governance. The Processes section provides all the processes required to undertake and sustain and EA initiaive split into 3 phases; Prepare, Implement, Operate.

Kevin Lee Smith, founder of Pragmatic EA said: "It gives me great pleasure to announce the publication of PEAF v2. I would like to thank the many people who have expressed their good wishes and comments over the last year and people for their frank views that give praise where it is merited but also provide criticism where it is due.

While PEAF v1 was a massive pragmatic step forward for EA frameworks, the main deficit seemed to be that the processes were too buried in various documents and mixed up with the products. In addition, the guidance they offered was lacking. This has now been corrected in v2 and processes now form a clear and integral part of the framework.”
