CeBIT 2010: NovaStor Launches NovaBACKUP DataCenter 4.0

The latest version of NovaStor’s enterprise backup solution stands out from the crowd.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar 02, 2010 -
Agoura Hills, CA / USA, Hamburg / Germany, Zug / Switzerland -- At CeBiT 2010 in Hannover from March 2 to 6, 2010, NovaStor (www.novastor.com), a pioneer in data protection, will launch the latest version of its enterprise backup software, NovaBACKUP DataCenter 4.0.

Flexibility In Virtual Environments:
Version 4.0 of NovaBACKUP DataCenter offers extensive support for flexible data protection in a virtual environment. For example, virtual machines can be backed up directly using agents as well as by using the interface of the virtualization solution. These options enable companies to exploit the potential of virtualization without being limited by a lack of flexibility in their backup solution.

Backup large amounts of data fast:
In the face of exponentially growing amounts of data, even enterprise backup solutions have their limits. Either the backup windows are too small to handle the scheduled amount of data, or errors accumulate and make successful backups impossible. To avoid these   problems, NovaStor enhanced the speed and performance of NovaBACKUP DataCenter in version 4.0 by 30%.

Reduce storage costs:
Besides offering a simple, innovative licensing model, NovaBACKUP DataCenter also reduces storage costs with its comfortable handling and new functions. For example, NovaBACKUP DataCenter supports synthetic backups, which significantly reduces the volume of backups. Enterprises benefit from comfortable, simplified handling, easier database backups and the costeffective integration of longterm data storage with the disktodisktotape function.

“Growing amounts of data are a constant challenge, which can cause massive problems and endanger the security of IT operations – even with market leading backup solutions. With NovaBACKUP DataCenter 4.0, we ensure that midsized companies and large enterprises receive a costsaving backup   solution that runs smoothly, even under extreme conditions,” said Mike Andrews, Managing Director at NovaStor.
