HOCKLEY, Texas – Two athletes are rollerblading across the USA as part of a national fundraising campaign before continuing their journey towards San Diego, California. On Tuesday, March 2, the team will roll into Hockley, Texas. In their project called In Motion For A Million, the athletes are attempting to raise one million dollars for Huntington’s Disease Society of America and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The team has already raised several thousands of dollars since the kick off on February 1, 2010, in St. Augustine, Florida.
The athletes are thrilled that they have already skated 1,000 miles. Participant and co-founder of In Motion For A Million, Dan Bowen, expands: “February has been a huge success! We have skated across 4 states and raised several thousands of dollars for our charities. We are excited to see what March brings!"
After spending March 2 in Hockley, attempting to come closer to their million dollar goal, the In Motion For A Million team will head towards Austin, Texas. The team is expected to arrive in Austin on Friday, March 5, where there are plans in motion for an impromtu fundraiser that night. Details to come.
