The Northern Colorado (NoCO) ENERGY STAR® Homes partners will explain what qualifies a new home for the ENERGY STAR label and how you can benefit from the ENERGY STAR mortgage at the 2010 Home & Remodel Show. The topics for the seminars include; “ENERGY STAR New Homes – What’s Behind the Label” and “ENERGY STAR Mortgage – Lower Interest Rate AND Save Money”. The seminars will be offered at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6th, at The Ranch in Loveland. The Home & Remodel Show runs from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for the home buying public to discover what the differences are between an ENERGY STAR new home and a conventionally built home,” said Past-President of the Home Building Association (HBA) of Northern Colorado and NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes program partner Vicki Wagner. “The NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes coalition has dedicated resources to help raise consumer awareness of the ENERGY STAR label and what it says about new home performance. The HBA of Northern Colorado is proud to be a partner in the NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes program.”

NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes is a regional program with a focus on high-performance construction for new homes — homes that perform better than conventionally built homes — and encourages home buyers to look for the familiar blue ENERGY STAR label. ENERGY STAR qualified homes provide better comfort, lower energy bills, healthier indoor air and increased durability. These homes also help reduce air pollution.

“We are excited to partner with the NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes coalition and to help home buyers understand the advantages and financial benefits of an ENERGY STAR mortgage,” said Bank of Colorado’s Energy Programs Manager Stephen Ponce-Pore. “The seminars that will take place at the 2010 Home & Remodel Show are intended to provide the audience with real, factual information about the value of an ENERGY STAR new home and how they can reduce their interest rate, save money each month and save energy.”

The NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes program provides training and works closely with builders and allied new home professionals to help them meet program guidelines. Please visit www.nocoenergystarhomes.org for details about the NoCO ENERGY STAR Homes program. To learn about the program in your area, contact Dave Talbot at 970.690.9669 or dtalbot@nocoenergystarhomes.org.
