By Jones account a cult can be any type of organization that as its share of loyal followers. Jones points out that there are four types of cults with the most infamous being the “crash and burn” variety typified by the Branch Dravidian Cult in Waco Texas and Jim Jones Peoples Temple which ended in many deaths. But the pentacle of cult building is what Jones calls “The Invisible Cult”.
The invisible cult is the type of organization that binds people to a common goal that is imagined by the cult leader. It also rewards its followers, keeping their bellies fed, so they would never feel exploited. “They would never imagine that they are in a cult.” says Jones.
