NH custom home builder and Certified Green Professional (CGP) Steven Reddy of Zetland Homes LLC will be a featured speaker at the 43nd Annual New Hampshire State Home Show. Reddy will present a seminar entitled Cost Effective Green Building & Energy Efficiency. The seminar discusses the latest advances in building science as they relate to green building. The presentation includes information on the major green building certification programs including LEED for Homes, Energy Star, and Build Green NH. Green building includes items such as home design and placement on the site, building materials, energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor air quality. The emphasis is on making green building and energy efficient homes more affordable.
The New Hampshire State Home Show is presented annually by the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of New Hampshire and is the oldest and largest home show in the state. The NH State Home Show is March 5, 6, and 7th at the Radisson Hotel/ Center of New Hampshire at 700 Elm Street in Manchester. The Green Building seminar will be presented at 11:30 on Sunday in the Webster Room just off the main entry to the show.
Steven Reddy was one of the first in the nation to earn the Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation and is a charter member of the Build Green NH Council. Reddy is Operations Manager for Zetland Homes LLC, a residential construction company that specializes in high performance and green homes. They built the 21st Century Victorian Demonstration Green Home under the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED for Homes Pilot Program. The Demonstration Green Home was the 2008 Cornerstone gold award winner for “most energy efficient design solution” and “best new home under $450,000” and the 2009 Dream Home Silver winner for "best green home". Zetland Homes built the second home in New Hampshire being certified under Build Green NH which is based on the National Association of Home Builders Model Green Building Program. They are currently finishing the first remodeling and deep energy retrofit project under the Build Green NH program.
