“News Agencies Meeting in the Culture Capital” project, to be realized by Anadolu Agency in 2010, in the frame of the activities designed by Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency, involves a conference. About 170 executives and press members from approximately 80 news agencies from around the world, especially from Europe and Asia-Pacific countries, will be gathered in this conference to take place in Istanbul on 23-27 November 2010.
The project will unite the representatives of international news agencies and well-known journalists in Istanbul, a European Capital of Culture for 2010. Via the conference news will be made promoting Turkey and Istanbul as a Capital of Culture. During the conference, presentations, covering the studies conducted during the process of Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture, will be given.
The representatives of news agencies to attend this conference will be invited and hosted by Anadolu Agency, which will be celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2010. The attendants will promote Istanbul and its activities for 2010. Their reports will be broadcasted in their news bulletins. The conference sessions and the decisions taken in the summit will be shared with the world via the attending agencies. Through the project, the international guests will be informed about the unique cultural heritage, natural and historical wealth of Istanbul and about the Turkish cuisine and music. The project will improve the visibility of Istanbul 2010 on the international arena.
