Entrepreneur's business fastest growing in UK in its sector
An entrepreneur who has helped Ulrika Jonsson and gangster rapper Coolio to get a good night's sleep has seen his company listed as the fastest growing in its sector in the UK.
Andrew Buchan, who started bed supplier Limelight Direct Limited from a garage in Biggleswade eight years ago, has trumped the likes of Dreams and Best Price Beds to achieve 53.7 per cent business growth in 2009.
Mr Buchan, 42, who now runs the firm from Limelight House in New Road, Sandy, also boasts high-profile clients like Celebrity Big Brother makers Endemol, who used the firm to provide beds for last year's series. The best selling products are from the bunk bed range.

A startling year-on-year mushrooming of the business, which Mr Buchan started from an address in Mead End, has seen the firm placed on a list of companies used by television production firms.
He said: "We will keep up to 5,000 beds in stock at any one time, so we can deliver in days rather than weeks.
"I think this has been a major factor behind the firm's success, especially with TV production companies, who will often ring up needing beds the next day, and need you to be completely reliable."

The firm, which specialises in bunk and children's beds, also bucked the trend of a 7.9 per cent decline in the sector as a national average.
Mr Buchan, who has also used premises in Eldon Way, Biggleswade, says steady growth is the key to a successful business, and that would-be entrepreneurs should not be put off by the recession.
He said: "I think the most important thing is to let your business grow gradually, and let it grow before you expand - a lot of people try to expand to quickly when they don't have the foundations or the history behind them to do so."
