In order to compile the Rising Stars list, attorneys are first asked to nominate the best among their peers who are under 40 or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. They are instructed to nominate attorneys they have personally observed in action - as opposing counsel, co-counsel, or through other first-hand observation. An attorney-led research team then reviews the credentials of the nominees based on a set of defined evaluation criteria. Following the peer selection and research process, only 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state are named to the Rising Stars list.
