Members of the Roberts family in Riverton, Utah, suffered severe skin allergies and eczema. Father, Hugh developed sores on his head due to the chemicals in shampoos, while his two of his children endured painful and embarrassing inflammations.
What began as a project to reduce waste on their small family farm, quickly became a quest to provide relief to others suffering from similar skin conditions, such as eczema and acne. “Studies have found that goat milk soap is easily absorbed by the skin” states Cindee, “and it promotes tissue repair down to the cellular level. It also provides nutrients and enzymes that the body needs.” Now, the entire family is involved in producing the handcrafted bars of soap, along with a line of lotions made with goat's milk. A favored goat named Lily, provided inspiration and Lily's Lathers became the moniker of the fledgling business.
For the past two years, Cindee shared her family's story with anyone who would listen at boutiques and craft fairs. She has customers, young and old, who have uncomfortable skin conditions that have benefited from using Lily's Lathers soap. “My son had dry, scaly skin and eczema rash behind his knees and elbows”, said Joylinn Gibson, “after using Lily's Lathers soap and lotion, his skin is soft and the eczema is gone.” Lily's Lathers receives rave reviews from people who use their products. “In a nutshell, is it works,” says Cindee “it relieves symptoms for all kinds of skin ailments.”
This month, Lily's Lathers launched a new web site at http://www.lilyslathers.com. This provides a new foundation in sharing the secret of healthy skin through the use of all natural goat milk soaps and lotions. The soaps come in 25 different fragrances, including the popular Morning Burst, Citrus Blast, Lavender and Peppermint Eucalyptus. The handmade soap sells for $4.25 per bar. The lotions range from $4.25 to $6.50.
