Feb. 26, 2010 - PRLog -- After a very, very long 2009 I decided to enter 2010 with a well deserved week long vacation. However, this vacation was booked with alot of resistance and with good reason.

Typically, like many people, a vacation is needed to keep sane but always seems to come at the wrong time. Each time I decide to take a vacation and leave the hustle and bustle of the real estate world everything seems to collapse around me. I than begin to doubt that I should leave my carreer as a real estate agent behind. Usually, it starts with the week before I leave when I recieve ten phone calls from clients wanting to view homes and write contracts. I can't seem to complete enough work before I leave and while away I can't stop thinking that clients will be mad if they don't have access to me.

Being in the real estate business and working with homeowners is a very hands on carreer. The key to success in this industry requires me to provide around the clock attention to all clients and being able to answer all there questions and address all there concerns. As a real estate agent in marlboro, NJ and a local resident since a child I have an obligation to keep my reputation at the highest level possible. I never want a client to think that I can't service there home buying or selling needs.

I strongly believe that I can provide myself some temporary relief from my work as a real estate agent by taking a weekend off or going to a good dinner with some friends. However, while these may be some great ideas to relieve some stress they don't provide the necessary relaxation a week long vacation can provide. The key is to go on vacation and leave your worries behind, but as we all know its not that simple. As stated before, we all worry about the work that is left behind. We all worry about loosing the next big deal or client and not making that extra buck. The issue becomes very clear that if we don't take a vacation we may not live long enough to enjoy the extra buck that we literally killed ourselves to earn.

A few key tips to going on vacation is to first pick a date and place and book it. Next, don't spend the time prior to the vaction driving yourself crazy about the vacation date arriving. Always plan a vacation with someone that you can enjoy your time with. Don't take a vacation with a person or peaople that need to be on a schedule or need to be constantly active. We are on a schedule everyday and constantly on the move and a vacation should be free of both of those things. Next, work should continue until you leave and can be resumed when you return. If you need to take phone calls or return emails while on vacation it's not a problem, but don't let it consume your vacation. Let customers and clients know you have access to email and a phone and that they can contact you; most of the time clients won't bother you. Finally, go on the vacation and enjoy yourself; let loose and allow your mind and body to relax.

If anyone has any home buying, selling or renting needs feel free to contact me.
