LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Senators David and Mark Pryor will be honored at a fundraising event hosted by the Arkansas 4-H Foundation on April 6, 2010. The event, which will be held at the Peabody Ballroom, will allow individuals and corporations to honor these individuals for always living “Arkansas comes first”, while raising money for Arkansas’ 4-H youth.
“Our goal of this fundraiser is to honor two individuals, who will leave a legacy to the citizens of Arkansas, to help raise funds to help develop the leaders that will follow in their footsteps and help support the efforts of our tireless volunteers” said Arkansas 4-H Foundation Executive Director Dr. Brad Davis. “The Foundation has taken pride in being a pioneer in the state for developing youth programs and providing a positive outlet for youth.”
Currently, the Arkansas 4-H program reaches over 131,000 youth ages five through nineteen in all 75 counties of the state, through the help of over 9,000 volunteers and provides opportunities for informal education, leadership development and life skills through eighty-three specially designed programs and activities.
“We are truly blessed in this state to have both a tremendous amount of 4-H members and volunteers and it is our goal is to gross $250,000, with the net proceeds benefiting Arkansas 4-H,” said Davis. “These kids truly are tomorrow’s leaders and it is the Foundation’s goal through funding and support we give them the guidance and skills to get them there.”
This non-partisan event will begin at 6 p.m. at the Peabody Ballroom. Various sponsorships are available ranging from $25,000 to $5,000. Each sponsorship level will include a specified number of guests in addition to advertising in the program and various levels of recognition throughout the evening. Individual tickets are available for $200.
