Pleasant Tree began in September 2006. Joel and Justin began recording at the same studio separately. The manager found similarities in their music and suggested that the two meet. Justin called Joel shortly after and the two began making music.
Brett went to High School with Justin and played drums in several bands allowing to be the opening acoustic act. A few years later, Justin saw Brett and mentioned that he was starting a band and was looking for a drummer. Brett was interested, came to a practice, and the three have been making music since.
Their upcoming album “The Gallery” will be released in Spring 2010. As they put the finishing touches on the album, Pleasant Tree is re-emerging and will begin playing more live shows throughout Northern Utah in the coming months.
Pleasant Tree will appear at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City on March 13th along with Cedars, The Lionelle, Nice Nice, and Love Like Fire. On March 20th, Pleasant Tree will compete in the first round of the Tournament of Champions at The Basement in Ogden.
