Brookline, MA February 01, 2010 = Boston Evening Therapy Associates, LLC, a local counseling center located in the Brookline Village area is pleased to announce that Robert Bonazoli has joined as an affiliate and is now accepting counseling referrals.
Robert Bonazoli has nearly 20 years experience working with adults, children, families, and groups facing challenges, grappling with suffering, and aspiring toward greater understanding, fulfillment, and connection in their lives and relationships. He has served as an organizational leader, university professor, organization development consultant, executive coach, and psychotherapist, and over the years has gained extensive experience dealing with issues of depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, relationship conflict, chronic mental illness, spirituality, grief and loss.
Robert earned his MSW from Boston College, and he focused his advanced post-graduate training in psychotherapy at intensive fellowships at Harvard Medical School and the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy. He has trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and studied Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at UMASS Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society, and presently is studying cutting-edge approaches to the treatment of trauma. He has studied Buddhist ethics, meditation, and psychology for over 10 years, which deeply influences his approach to helping individuals address their suffering, improve their lives, and reach their aspirations. He also serves as a volunteer with Give An Hour, an organization of psychotherapists volunteering to work free of charge with military veterans returning from combat.
Robert’s approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that much of human suffering stems from a separateness, a rupture, or an incohesiveness between the core dimensions of our lives: psychological, interpersonal, physical, and spiritual. He believes that powerful growth and healing can be rooted in the work of striving to integrate, or re-integrate, the unique and complicated combination of elements making up these dimensions within each person’s life. Robert is committed to creating trusting, warm, and accepting relationships with his clients in order to effectively enter such important and personal work together.
