Phoenix, Arizona-based Anderson Security Agency has announced the search for a brave child to recognize for its annual H.P. Anderson, Sr. Citizenship Award that acknowledges a Valley child for their act of heroism. Honorees of the H.P. Anderson, Sr. Citizenship Award are spotlighted at the company’s annual ceremony and receive a $5,000 prize. Last year’s recipient was six-year-old Evan Rodriguez who saved his entire family from a house fire that broke out in the middle of the night. He joined the ranks of other child superheroes from a young boy battling a brain tumor that inspired soldiers in Iraq to a teen who saved his brother’s life by administering CPR.
“We launched this program 11-years ago to recognize children in Arizona that serve as an inspiration to people of every age through their act of bravery,” said Kimberly Anderson-Matich, founder and president of Anderson Security Agency, Ltd. “As a team we all look forward to our annual awards ceremony, as we face the tough task of selecting just one child to recognize.”
