Feb. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- New York, NY - New York Fashion Week is hectic and crazy but very rewarding for all parties involved.  This season, Lianne Farbes (http://www.themakeupgirl.net) and Paul Baranda (http://www.beyondbeautybasics.com) threw the party to end all parties.  The NYFW Media Mixer Sponsored by Secret Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant took place on Saturday February 13, 2010 and was attended by virtually all of the online media that had converged on New York for Fashion Week.  Bloggers from fashion, beauty, and lifestyle came together in one night in this networking extravaganza.  Of the record-breaking turnout, Baranda said, "I can't even believe how many people are here!  It's slightly overwhelming but exciting at the same time!"

Some of the top beauty & fashion bloggers and online media were in attendance including Shannon Nelson (A Girl's Gotta Spa), Michelle Mismas (All Lacquered Up), Kristen Kelly (Beauty Addict), Jeannine Morris (Beauty Sweet Spot), Amber Katz (Beauty Blogging Junkie), Tabitha St. Bernard (I'm Not Obsessed), Bailey Clark (Makeover Momma), Carla Maganinho (Product Girl), Wendy Lam (Nitrolicious), Daneen Baird (Spoiled Pretty), Marta Walsh (Talking Makeup), Roselyn Montero (Tempt'd), Anne Fritz (The JetSet Girls), and many more.

As Farbes said, "There are really no networking events for online media, Paul and I decided we wanted to fill that void and that's how NYFW Media Mixer was born."  Last season, Farbes and Baranda thew their soiree at the W Hotel's Wet Bar and after the overwhelming response, they realized that the event needed to be bigger and better next time around.  Baranda scouted the perfect location, ION Studio, a leading green salon in NYC's SoHo.   A three-story loft, ION Studio is light and airy. Recycled plywood chairs, organic hair products, and wind-powered energy offsets are all part of the owners’ commitment to la vita verde.

Paul Baranda also partnered with PR maven Christina Rice of Luxe Life Media (http://www.luxelifemedia.com) to bring Candoni Wines (http://www.candoniwines.com) to the table, whose Prosecco was the base for the delicious Secret Bold Berry Belinni's being served to guests.

In one corner, Stila cosmetics was giving makeovers and demonstrating how their new makeup player worked.  In addition, Zeno was set up to demo their latest "Hot Spot" device.  Guests mingled, posed for pictures and nibbled on fabulous food by Crave Catering of New Jersey.  One guest exclaimed, "This food is SO good!"  Secret also had an incredible giveaway called the "Fearless Fishbowl Contest.”  Partygoers placed their business card in a fishbowl for the shot at winning the grand prize which was $1,000 towards conquering their fearless goal.  Representatives of Secret were on hand to congratulate excited contest winner Kimberly Riley who said,  "I have a fear of Crocodiles and Alligators! I'm not sure how I will conquer that but we'll see."

In addition to the main sponsor, the other generous sponsors that Farbes and Baranda secured for the event included  Tarte Cosmetics, Ted Gibson Beauty, Lierac Skincare, Phyto Haircare, Suave Beauty, La Roche-Posay , PH8 , Vichy Skincare, Stila Cosmetics, Zeno, Gillette Venus, Zoya Nail Polish & Treatments.
