RTÉ's Dragons Niall O'Farrell,Sean Gallagher, presenter Richard Curran, Sarah Newman, and Bobby Kerr,
This new eight-part series sees Irish entrepreneurial companies/individuals pitch an array of ideas at the Dragons; from Caribbean spice to Seaweed Liquor.
The Dragons have already invested hundreds of thousands of euros in last year’s successful candidates and these investments are starting to pay off according to RTÉ.
In this brand new series, Sean and Niall are the first two Dragons to make an investment in ‘Taste of The Caribbean Sauces’ with Jennylynd James, who hails from Trinidad and Tobago.
The second investment in the first show comes from Gavin Duffy who saw the potential in Herbie Porsche’s Toilet Pipe Cover to disguise the unsightly join between the toilet pipe and bathroom floor. The idea came to him when while tiling bathrooms, noting it was very difficult to cut the tiles exactly and cover the ugly piping and join.
Steve Carson, Director of Programmes, RTÉ Television, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing another series of Dragons’ Den to air. The series is particularly timely in the current climate, as it offers a real platform and genuine opportunities to new Irish businesses, as the success stories from the first series prove.”
Gabriel Bannigan, Director of Retail Strategy and Marketing, Bank of Ireland said: "We remain committed to the SME sector and continue to support viable and innovative small businesses and their financial needs.
"These businesses remain pivotal to the recovery of our economy and the continued sponsorship of Dragons’ Den aligns directly with our ambition to be the leading supporter of small business start-ups in Ireland.
"We are also launching a new website, allaboutbusiness.ie, to coincide with the first episode of the programme," he added.
