Feb. 25, 2010 - PRLog -- Cork boards, memo boards, notice boards, bulletin boards, pin boards - whatever you call them - everybody knows what these are! And I'll bet many people have one either hanging on a wall in their kitchen, in their laundry room or by their back door. Or maybe you have one stashed away somewhere, gathering dust in an attic or collecting cobwebs in the garage. Whatever the case, most people have owned some kind of cork board at some time in their life. But alas, in this day and age the time-tested system of note-sharing, picture-displaying, and information-posting on a good ol' cork board on the wall has fallen by the wayside. Overtaken by virtual tools, cork boards have seemingly become an artifact of the past.

Or have they?

Let me ask you a seemingly unrelated question: Do you have goals for your life? Do you believe in setting goals? Have you ever made goal setting worksheets or lists? Would you like to have some kind of powerful tool to help you set your personal goals, provide a road map of sorts, and help drive you ever closer to making your dreams a reality? Then you need to start thinking 'cork board'. Seriously.

More specifically, you need to start thinking "VISION BOARD". What is a vision board, you ask? A vision board is a tool that is fun and enjoyable to create, yet empowering when put into use. A vision board will effectively bring forth the things that you can imagine in your heart and mind and and breathe life into those imaginings through pictures that you can actually see, thus providing you with crystal clarity and focus in envisioning your goals.

And this is where your good, old trusty cork board will come into play. The cork board is your blank canvas. Your medium for expression. On this cork board you will pin up images and power words that you have cut out and gathered from any of a multitude of sources - magazines, photographs, cards, brochures, calenders... you get the idea. You are going to make a collage - a compilation - of all your hopes, dreams and desires. When your vision board is completed, take it and hang it up in a place where you can see it several times per day. This will help you to stay focused and be reminded of your goals and dreams.
