There are millions of ebooks that will be filled with colorful graphics, multiple music tracks, narration and animation but right now there are only a few and Poets Road and My Legacy Press have produced one of the most advanced ebooks ever created. Pretty Peace, written by Kevin O'Donnell, is a rich new ebook that shows where this new category is headed. Far less expensive than a printed book, filled with sound and animation, while maintaining text and page by page discoveries, ebooks are a winning proposition for the writers, publishers and consumers.
In the case of Pretty Peace, the big winners are the kids, specifically girls from six to eleven years old. Pretty Peace portrays herself as a positive thinking precocious girl with a curious collection of friends from places both faraway and wild. It is not every children's book that quotes Albert Einstein and the unique aspects of Pretty Peace do not end there. However, it is the ebook medium that may be the most unique thing for the publishing industry.
The smattering of children's books currently available for the iphone are doing surprisingly well, with 100,000 plus downloads being reported. "We have been involved with a number of high profile online projects over the past few years, including creating the websites for the CBS Saturday Morning Shows, however, we made a decision to focus in on ebooks for the iPhone and other platforms." - says Mike Bundlie, President of Poets Road.
Pretty Peace has been in production for three months and is available online now at www.prettypeace.com. The iPhone version is schedule to hit the Aps store in early March. In the past I have created and produced three network series for kids and because of the cost and complexity of the old technology I had to launch them with studios. Ebooks offer a new way for independent producers and creators to put their content out without losing control." - says Kevin O'Donnell, who goes on to say; "With the creative team at Poets Road, we were able to bring Pretty Peace to life quickly and exactly the way we wanted. The results have been fantastic and we started making sales the same afternoon we launched."
Ebooks are playing prominently in the business models of major companies such as Amazon and Barnes and Noble, who have both announced huge increases in their digital sales. In fact, Amazon stated that they actually sold more ebook this past Christmas than traditional paper books. To date, the children's field has been under served but Poets Road and My Legacy Press are working hard to change that, with a series of books scheduled for release this year. Pretty Peace can be found at www.prettypeace.com.
